A working breakfast organized by
Climate Policy Initiative with the support of the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment
in partnership with the International Chamber of Commerce

 

On May 20, Climate Policy Initiative (CPI) with the support of The Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment, and in partnership with the International Chamber of Commerce, organized at the margins of the Business and Climate Summit a working breakfast meeting on Innovative Finance for Climate Resilience. The meeting brought together investors, policymakers and practitioners involved in climate change risk management to discuss innovative instruments and strategies to stimulate greater private and public investments in climate-resilient infrastructure, water-related and agribusiness sectors.

The meeting was part of the Climate Week Paris.

8:00 – 8:15    Welcome to the Innovative Finance for Climate Resilience Dialogue

Introductory remarks revisit the purpose and objectives of the Dialogue and introduce focal themes and questions to guide the discussions. A tour de table will introduce all participants and identify priority areas of interest of the group.

8:15 – 9:30    Roundtable discussion on public sector instruments for stimulating private sector action on climate resilience

An overview presentation will introduce early findings from an analysis of how Development Finance Institutions are driving and enabling private investments in climate resilience. Financiers, business representatives and experts from other areas are then invited to participate in a roundtable discussion to provide feedback, and explore options on how to stimulate and enable further investments.
