CPI Analyst Dario Abramskiehn spoke at the Expert Group Meeting on Green Economy for Sustainable Development Goals, organized by the United Nations Office for Sustainable Development (UNOSD), on March 13 in Jeju City, South Korea.

Dario presented on the Climate Finance Landscape and Implications for SDGs during a session titled, “Financing for Low Carbon Development.”

In September 2015, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals were adopted at the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit, aiming to “stimulate action over the next fifteen years in areas of critical importance for humanity and the planet: People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace (and Justice), and Partnerships.” Against this backdrop, the Expert Group Meeting on Green Economy for Sustainable Development was designed to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and experiences regarding the relationships between “green economy” and sustainable development goals. The meeting showcased strong examples of how and why the promotion of low carbon development is a successful policy measure in realizing SDGs.
