Carolina Marques

Research Project Coordinator

Carolina is a biologist with Bachelor’s degree from the University of Brasilia (Brazil) and the University of Queensland (Australia). She has worked in research and environmental education initiatives for biodiversity conservation focusing in marine megafauna threatened species, especially marine turtles and whales. Carolina also received a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development and Biodiversity Conservation from the Ecological Research Institute (ESCAS/IPÊ), with a thesis about how to mainstream ecosystem-based decision supporting tools for biodiversity conservation in Brazil. Before joining CPI, Carolina worked for IUCN, International Union for Conservation of Nature, for five years supporting the implementation of the global program in Brazil, managing projects and supporting multistakeholder partnerships to promote nature based solutions for sustainability. She is currently coordinating research projects applied for improving environmental public policies at CPI, Climate Policy Initiative.
