Julia Ellis is a Senior Associate seconded to CPI from the UK’s Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy to support CPI’s work on global climate finance. Whilst in the UK Government, Julia worked in the International Directorate, most recently on the climate finance negotiations of the Paris Agreement. Julia also worked on the UK’s International Climate Fund in the private sector team, leading on innovative climate finance programmes and running the private sector engagement forum. This included establishing the Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance and UK Climate Investments LLP, a joint venture with the Green Investment Bank.
Julia previously worked as the Climate and Energy Attaché at the British Embassy in Berlin, advising the British government on the German Energiewende and approach to international climate and energy issues. Prior to that, Julia worked at the European and Global Issue Secretariat in the UK Cabinet office, coordinating UK positions for EU and International negotiations and advising on environment, climate and energy issues.
