Morgan Richmond leads CPI’s workstream on Adaptation & Resilience, seeking to accelerate the amount and effectiveness of climate finance that addresses adaptation. Morgan leads analysis and support for adaptation-relevant financial instruments developed under CPI’s Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance and supports the adaptation work of the Catalytic Climate Finance Facility. Morgan also works on advancing CPI’s tracking of global climate adaptation finance flows, including authorship of recent reports with the Global Center on Adaptation: State and Trends in Climate Adaptation Finance 2023 and Financial Innovation for Climate Adaptation in Africa.

Prior to joining CPI, Morgan worked at the Cadmus Group where she contributed to climate security and resilience work, conducted corporate climate risks analysis, and supported energy utility market research and reporting. Morgan interned at the White House Council on Environmental Quality in its climate preparedness office and was a student assistant at U.S. Global Change Research Program during the development of the fourth National Climate Assessment. She has a Master’s Degree in International Business and Policy from Georgetown University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Carleton College.
