Harnessing digital innovations to democratise finance for climate action
There is much discussion about the role of information and communications technologies in socio-economic development on the African continent and the opportunities made available to enhance lives and national economies through the 4th Industrial Revolution. Now, addressing climate change must be placed at the centre of these discussions to ensure development gains made are not reduced by the impacts of climate change. Furthermore, there is evidence of greater access to finance across Africa due to innovative digital finance and banking products.
CPI analyst Hélène Van Caenegem will participate in this session to engage on how these two intersect to ensure that digital innovations enable greater participation by all in climate finance and action.
