Liam Maguire is an Analyst at CPI based in Washington, D.C. At CPI, he supports the Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance with a particular focus on adaptation instruments. He also supports CPI’s engagement with USAID’s Climate Finance for Development Accelerator (CFDA) and with public development banks through the FiCS Lab.

Prior to joining CPI, Liam worked on humanitarian programs and strategic planning efforts at the USAID Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance. Before that, he spent two years in Namibia as a Peace Corps Volunteer, collaborating with local counterparts on youth development, education, and water infrastructure projects. Additionally, he contributed to policy briefs for the Department of Energy on financing Puerto Rico’s renewable energy transition and implemented emergency programs for communities displaced by drought in the Horn of Africa with the UN’s International Organization for Migration.

Liam holds a Master’s degree in Public Affairs from Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA) and a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies from Boston College.
