Alícia Lerner is a Senior Program Associate at Climate Policy Initiative and works within the Cities Climate Finance Leadership Alliance (CCFLA) initiative, where she leads the implementation of a CCFLA Hub in Brazil to drive urban and subnational financing for climate mitigation and adaptation. 

She holds a degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of São Paulo (FAU-USP), with academic mobility at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. She was also part of the Local Pathways program of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN). Her academic background includes research on urban development policies and instruments, as well as the implementation of public transportation infrastructure in São Paulo. Additionally, she contributed to the Climate Technology Progress Report 2023 of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). 

Before joining CCFLA, she worked at Climate Bonds Initiative, supporting the development of the labeled debt capital market in Latin America and the Caribbean, contributing to the preparation of various State of the Market reports in the region. 
Later, she coordinated the organization’s Global Resilience Programme and contributed to the development of the Climate Bonds Resilience Taxonomy. In this context, she led technical discussions on climate adaptation, both cross-sectorally and specifically for the urban planning sector of the Brazilian Sustainable Taxonomy. 

She also worked at the Centro de Tecnologia de Edificações (CTE), providing consulting services for sustainability certifications in urban projects. 

With an interdisciplinary and international trajectory, she has collaborated with governments, multilateral institutions, and the private sector in developing solutions aligned with climate resilience and the sustainability of urban areas.
