Renewal of public-private cooperation (round table 3)
December 11, 2017, 16:50 – 17:50
Pierre Mendès France Conference Center, Ministry for the Economy and Finance

The economics of low-carbon technologies continue to improve. However, their deployment remains hampered by barriers, risks, and costs that limit access to financing. To accelerate the low-carbon transition, new public-private cooperation is developing. This cooperation depends on political support and on the strategic use of public policies and finance to mobilize private money more effectively. This round table will highlight the most promising initiatives to deliver public priorities, support the market, and address the challenges of adaptation to and mitigation of climate change.

Speakers include:

  • Josué Tanaka, Managing Director, Energy Efficiency and Climate Change, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development
  •  Luca Bertalot, Secretary General, European Mortgage Federation – European Covered Bond Council & Energy Efficiency Mortgages Action Plan Coordinator
  • Jonathan Taylor, Vice-President, European Investment Bank
  • Pascal Blanqué, CIO, Amundi

Climate Finance Day 2017 will bring together high-level representatives of the financial industry, regulation and supervision authorities, and central banks. It will showcase the most innovative initiatives aimed at accelerating the financing of the energy transition and adaptation to global warming, and provide information on transparency and address risk management, financing solutions for the real economy, and public-private partnerships. The most promising initiatives announced on Climate Finance Day will be highlighted during the “One Planet Summit” held the following day.
