The Lab will be hosting a workshop at the World Bank Group’s Innovate4Climate in Frankfurt, on May 24th at 12:30pm, entitled “Financing Sustainable Development and Climate Action through Innovation.” The workshop will be moderated by Lab Secretariat Dr. Barbara Buchner, and will feature expert Lab stakeholders who will share emerging tools and lessons learned from the Lab to drive private finance for NDCs and climate resilience in developing countries.

In addition, CPI will be co-hosting the session, “Missed Signals: Making NDCs Relevant to Markets” on May 22nd at 13:20. Dr. Buchner will also be speaking on the panels”Results Based NDC Implementation” and “Better Governance for Investment in Sustainable Infrastructure. CPI’s Bella Tonkonogy will also be speaking, on the panel “Blended Concessional Finance for the Private Sector: From Principles to Implementation.”

Co-hosted with the Governments of Germany and Spain, Innovate4Climate is the World Bank’s flagship climate change event on transformative climate action. It brings together government, multilateral, business, banking and finance leaders to accelerate action on financing climate-resilient development and to support the implementation of the Paris Agreement. In addition to the Workshop Series, the 3-day event includes a high-level summit on scaling and accelerating climate investment, the Pitch Hub that provides a platform to present ideas in a dynamic and interactive format; a dedicated Marketplace for exhibitors and networking; and a Digital Media Zone to connect conference participants with a global online audience. In 2017, its inaugural year, Innovate4Climate welcomed 1,500 participants from 82 countries, featuring more than 100 side-events and 350 speakers.
