Chavi is a Manager in CPI’s London team, bringing expertise in tracking and evaluating global and national climate finance trends, and climate policies. She leads CPI’s national tracking workstream, which aims to provide targeted support for countries to implement their climate finance tracking activities and develop their national strategies to implement NDCs. Her recent work with CPI includes the Landscape of Climate Finance in Africa, UNFCCC’s Biennial Assessment 2022 and Overview of Climate Finance Flows report which supports the COP negotiations, developing methodology and guidelines for various national (South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, Indonesia, India) and subnational tracking initiatives (Cities Climate Finance Leadership Alliance), and CPI’s flagship series The Global Landscape of Climate Finance. She is currently leading a three-year program with South Africa’s Presidential Climate Commission Africa to institutionalize climate finance tracking, and a UK PACT South Africa project on interoperability of South Africa’s green finance taxonomy.

In the past, she has also worked at CPI’s India office to develop a business case for mobilizing institutional investments in the renewable energy sector in India, and under the India Innovation Lab for Green Finance, supported CPI’s work on low carbon transit.

Prior to CPI, she worked with the National Council of Applied Economic Research, a New Delhi based non-profit think tank of economics and CB Richard Ellis, a commercial real estate services and investment firm. Chavi holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the London School of Economics.
