Uday Varadarajan, Principal at Climate Policy Initiative, presented the results of CPI’s analysis which contributed to the paper titled Large Scale Renewable Energy Development in New York: Options and Assessment.
The report analyzed ways in which New York state could cost-effectively spur the deployment of large-scale renewable generation. It found that long-term power contracts to reduce energy price risk, securitization to lower the cost of project debt, and a long-term budget commitment to support renewable generation could help catalyze deployment and put renewable generation on the path to grid-parity in the state.
