Valerio Micale, Manager at CPI, will participate in the SDG Investment Fair, organized by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, in collaboration with the UN Global Compact, UN PRI, UNEP-FI, and the ICC, on April 22, 2018 in New York City. The Fair, which directly precedes the UN’s 2018 Financing for Development Forum, brings together ministers of finance and high-level officials from emerging markets with the investor community, to explore new opportunities for SDG investment (SDGI) and discuss specific projects in the pipelines of national governments.

Valerio will be on hand to discuss the Ormat Olkaria III Geothermal Power Plant, the first privately funded and developed geothermal plant in Africa. The project was funded through two separate rounds of equity and debt financing, resulting in profits for the private investor and a decrease in energy costs for consumers. The project highlights the importance of successful risk allocation between the private sector and public sector in achieving efficiency.
