Ben Broché leads CPI’s Innovative Finance and Capital Mobilization workstream globally, and is the interim Director for CPI’s US-based team, including guiding and overseeing the team’s technical work in climate finance and leading external engagement and program development.

Ben’s work includes overseeing the Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance (the Lab), a coalition of over 100 governments, development finance institutions, and private investors that identifies, develops, and launches innovative financial instruments to drive billions in private capital to renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainable cities, land use, and other sectors. The Lab has mobilized more than $4.1 billion in investment toward climate action in developing and emerging economies.

Ben also leads the CPI team delivering The Catalytic Climate Finance Facility—a joint venture between CPI and Convergence—which accelerates financing and implementation of innovative and high-impact climate structures in developing economies through grant seed funding and technical support.

Ben also leads an emerging workstream at CPI focused on supporting corporations toward greater alignment and action in raising, managing, and deploying climate finance, including serving as the lead author of the Corporate Climate Finance Playbook.

Ben contributes regularly to CPI publications and thought leadership, including research reports, reports, and webinars, in addition to representing CPI and the Lab externally at conferences and events.

Before joining CPI in 2015, Ben worked at Business for Social Responsibility (BSR), an international consultancy and business network focused on sustainability, where he managed global business and multi-stakeholder collaborations focused on corporate sustainability and climate strategy. Prior to that, Ben was with Give2Asia, which advises companies and foundations on their charitable investments in Asia.

Ben holds a M.Sc. in International Development Studies from the University of Bristol.
