Julia de Niemeyer Caldas is a Data Analyst at CPI/PUC-Rio and has been contributing to the Graduate Program in Ecology at UFRJ since 2015. At CPI/PUC-Rio, she works as part of the Climate Finance team.
Julia worked with various Brazilian and international NGOs and organizations, including the International Institute for Sustainability (IIS). Prior to this, she served as a researcher at UFRJ and the Brazilian Network for Research on Global Climate Change (RedeClima), specializing in geospatial analysis for environmental issues. Julia has published several studies on the environmental impacts of climate change and ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA), and has contributed to key reports such as the IPCC’s AR6.
She holds a B.A. in Biology from UNIRIO, along with a Master’s degree and Ph.D. in Ecology from UFRJ. Her doctoral research focused on climate risk analysis and EbA solutions in Northeast South America.
