Ken Schell-Smith is a Junior Analyst at CPI, based in Washington, D.C. He provides support for climate mitigation and adaptation interventions. His past work focused on nature-based solutions in climate vulnerable communities.
In his time at CPI, Ken has contributed to reports on climate adaptation finance and public financial institution climate commitment tracking, namely on the State and Trends in Climate Adaptation Finance in 2023 and the Public Financial Institutions’ Climate Commitments Update: 2023. Additionally, he has assisted the development of internal knowledge management systems. Ken currently works on the Lab, irrecoverable carbon, and international financial architecture reform.
Prior to CPI, Ken Schell-Smith worked at Tetra Tech as an intern, assisting USAID in implementing climate adaptation interventions in Bangladesh through evidence-based recommendations. He also worked at World Resources Institute (WRI) as an intern, where he analyzed enabling conditions, barriers, and opportunities for investment in nature-based solutions in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Ken holds a B.A. in International Affairs and Environmental Studies from Brown University.
