Anna Balm is a Project Manager in Climate Policy Initiative’s London office, where she specializes in projects with a focus on Africa and works on CPI’s partnerships with governments. More recently this has included the State of Climate Finance in Africa series, including the Africa Landscape. As well as the ClimateShot Investor Coalition (CLIC), an action-oriented initiative launched by UK FCDO at COP26 to accelerate and scale up investments in agriculture and food systems with focus on climate and nature benefits.

Previously, Anna was the Project Manager for GNI+ in Kenya. Based in Nairobi, Anna worked closely with the Kenyan Ministry of Environment and Forestry, the National Treasury, development partners, and private sector partners in order to support the Government of Kenya to achieve its NDC goals.

Anna joined CPI from the UK Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, where she was Head of the UK Sustainable Infrastructure Programme and previously led the set up and delivery of the Renewable Energy Performance Platform (REPP), managed the Global Energy Transfer Feed-in Tariffs (GET FiT) program in Uganda, and was involved in the establishment of the UK Green Investment Bank’s international investment vehicle (UK Climate Investments).

Anna holds a masters in Geography from the University of St Andrews.
