Brian Mai (he/they) is an HR Generalist at CPI, based in Washington, D.C. In this role, Brian provides comprehensive HR support to the U.S. team, with a focus on talent acquisition, policy improvement, and employee engagement. They collaborate closely with the global team to maintain a positive workplace culture and streamline HR processes. Additionally, Brian manages U.S. benefits administration, payroll, and compliance, ensuring alignment with CPI’s global standards.

Before joining CPI, Brian served as the Recruiting Manager at the Federation of American Scientists, where he led recruiting, onboarding, and daily HR operations. In previous roles, Brian developed anti-racism training programs, created an organization-wide performance framework, and focused on designing inclusive recruiting strategies to attract talent from underserved and underrepresented communities. Throughout his career, Brian has been dedicated to creating safe, accountable, and inclusive spaces for his teams.

Brian holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work, a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Central Florida, and has completed two years of Ph.D. experience at Florida State University.
