Carla Orrego is CPI’s Innovative Finance Senior Manager, based in the San Francisco office. She oversees innovative finance programs, guiding the strategy and implementation of The Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance, the Catalytic Climate Finance Facility, and the Finance Lab for Irrecoverable Carbon. Carla also collaborates with CPI’s strategic initiatives, publications and thought leadership, and events representation.

Prior to CPI, Carla gained extensive experience in the impact and investment management industry and innovative product structuring. She has worked across asset classes in domestic and international markets for Scotiabank, Credicorp Capital, Citibank, and other asset and wealth managers, and in several impact and sustainable investing projects in sectors including energy, forestry, insurance, and cities. Carla also co-founded Matchcota and CreaVerde, two non-profits in Peru, addressing animal and environmental issues.

Carla holds an MBA with a Certificate in Business Analytics from UC Berkeley Haas School of Business and a BS in Economics with concentration in Finance from the Universidad del Pacifico. She also has a Certificate in Sustainable Capitalism & ESG from Berkeley Law Executive Education and the CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing.
