Hamza Abdullah is an Analyst at CPI, where he supports the Cities Climate Finance Leadership Alliance (CCFLA). He has been with the CCFLA team as a consultant and previously as an intern. During this association, he has contributed to the MDB reform research, CCFLA’s Membership analysis and the State of Cities Climate Finance. Recently, his work has focused on researching urban adaptation finance, country platforms, and analyzing the global urban project preparation ecosystem.

Before CPI, Hamza worked with India’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, supporting city-level climate and development programs such as the ClimateSmart Cities Assessment Framework and the Smart Cities Mission. Hamza’s research interests lie in urban adaptation finance. He holds a master’s degree in Urbanisation and Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science, earned on a Chevening scholarship. His dissertation, supported by a Royal Geographical Society grant, analysed extreme heat risks among urban manual workers.
