John Michael LaSalle is Senior Program Associate at CPI based in Washington, D.C. He leads the Cities Climate Finance Leadership Alliance (CCFLA) project preparation workstream. His work includes the Project Preparation Facility (PPF) Connector program that supports partnerships and project matchmaking for CCFLA members and coordinating the Project Preparation Action Group’s knowledge product and collaboration activities. While at CPI he has also contributed to work on subnational climate finance tracking, green buildings, resilient infrastructure, and cities related instruments at Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance

Prior to CPI, John Michael worked at the World Bank as an Urban Development Consultant, developing urban development and flood exposure analytics for Sub-Saharan Africa, and as a Research Assistant at the University of Pennsylvania, researching climate resilient infrastructure. He also has extensive experience in transportation electrification and developing remote sensing data analytics for renewable energy. 

He holds a Master’s degree in City Planning from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s degree in International Development Studies from Calvin University as part of a pre-architecture program.
