Júlio Lubianco is a Communications Manager for the Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance (the Lab), based in Rio. His responsibilities include developing and carrying out integrated external communications strategies and placing stories in top-tier media. He also creates and edits materials for multiple global audiences, among other duties.

Before joining CPI in 2019, he worked at CBN, Brazil’s most extensive all-news radio network. He was a reporter, then an editor, and later the managing editor for Rio and Belo Horizonte’s newsrooms. For his stories, he has won four journalistic prizes: Embratel (2007), Alexandre Adler (2008), and Tim Lopes for Investigative Reporting (2009 and 2014). He has also worked at Jornal do Brasil, O Globo, and has collaborated with several publications, including Knight Center’s LatAm Journalism Review.

Júlio holds a BA in Journalism from Universidade Federal Fluminense and an MSc in Media and Communications from the London School of Economics. He is also a teacher at PUC-Rio’s communications department.
