Guillermo “Memo” Martinez is an Analyst at CPI, based in Washington, D.C. Guillermo focuses on both climate mitigation and adaptation, Memo’s past work has centered on energy solutions, including renewables, efficiency, access, and water utility management.

At CPI, Memo has contributed to the Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance (the Lab). His efforts include supporting the Catalyst Climate Resilience Fund (CCRF) and the Regional Program for Latin America and the Caribbean. Additionally, Memo contributed to the development of the Corporate Climate Finance Playbook in partnership with Salesforce. He has worked with the Global Center on Adaptation by contributing to the recent report Accelerating Adaptation Finance: Africa and Global Perspectives.

Prior to CPI, Memo worked at the British Embassy of Mexico City where he supported the implementation of the COP26 agenda on energy, mobility, and nature-based solutions. He also interned at GIZ, where he worked on projects that strengthened the capacity of policies and frameworks that focused on the nexus of energy and climate.

Memo holds a B.S. in Sustainable Development Engineering from Tecnologico de Monterrey and an M.A. in Climate and Society from Columbia University.
