Dr. Angela Falconer is an independent climate finance consultant, based in Venice, Italy, with 19 years of climate policy and finance experience focussed on agriculture and forests. For the past two years Angela has supported the establishment of the ClimateShot Impact Investor Coalition (CLIC), of which Climate Policy Initiative is the secretariat. In particular, she works on the Agrifood Investment Connector, identifying and supporting agribusinesses to assess their climate and nature impacts.
She is a former Director at Climate Policy Initiative, where she worked for 11 years on the Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance, international and domestic climate finance tracking, Paris Alignment and work with the Governments of Indonesia, Kenya and Cote d’Ivoire on climate finance taxonomies, public budget reviews and design of climate finance mechanisms.
Angela holds a PhD in the Science and Management of Climate Change from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, where her thesis focused on REDD+ finance, an MSc in Environmental Change and Management from the University of Oxford, and an MA in Geography from the University of Glasgow.
