As announced during the climate negotiations 2012 in Doha, Qatar, the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) of the United Kingdom jointly established the NAMA Facility. In 2013 they contributed jointly an initial EUR 69 million of funding to support developing countries and emerging economies that show leadership on tackling climate change and that want to implement ambitious climate protection measures (NAMAs).
