VENICE, ITALY – Barbara Buchner, Senior Director of Climate Policy Initiative (CPI), was named one of the twenty most influential women in the climate change debate by the International Council for Science for her role leading CPI’s climate finance work.
Buchner directs CPI’s work supporting the Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance, a new global public-private initiative that identifies cutting edge climate finance instruments with the potential to drive investment at scale. She is lead author on CPI’s Global Landscape of Climate Finance analyses, the most comprehensive overview of global climate finance flows available. She also serves as an advisor to various high level leaders in finance, energy policy, and climate change. Buchner was promoted from Director to Senior Director in 2013. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Graz.
